Liptaň was first mentioned in 1256. At that time, its founder, the knight Helembert de Turri, transferred the village to the Bishop of Olomouc. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a cultural monument. The village is also home to the Chapel of Our Lady of Help, with its Stations of the Cross.
